Ernest Edward Carter

Ernest E. Carter, 65, of Valdosta, died on Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at South Georgia Medical Center after along illness. Born in Hazelhurst on September 14, 1940, he was the son of the late Edward and Clara Owens Carter. Mr. Carter was a retired self employed painter. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors are his daughter, Mary Catherine Motin of Massachusetts, two grandchildren, five great grandchildren; brother and sister in law, Earl and Janie Carter of Valdosta; several nieces and nephews including a special loving niece, Breanna Griffin. Mr. Carter was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2006, at 2 p.m. at Sunset Hill Cemetery. Pastor Sunnie Bland will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. Condolences may be conveyed online at www.mclanefuneralservices.com.
