Ernest Bennett

Ernest Bennett, 74 of Valdosta, died on Monday, February 19, 2007 at South Georgia Medical Center after a short illness. Born on November 1, 1932, in Lowndes County, he was the son of the late Tommie and Lillie Harnage Bennett. Mr. Bennett was a retired truck driver for Gulf Oil Co., a member of the Azalea City C.B. Club and of Trinity Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Delila Mange Bennett of Valdosta; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Ricky Stinson of Troy, AL; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Jessica Bennett of Lakeland, Timothy and Kizzy Bennett of Valdosta; grandchildren, Alesa Bennett, Destiny Bennett, Matthew (Eli) Bennett, Jasmine Bennett; sister, Madelina Dasher of Dasher and a number of nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Virgil Bennett, and his grandmothers, Mattie Harnage and Sallie Bennett.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, February 22, 2007 at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Alton Hardee and Reverend A.M. Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery in Naylor. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
