Emma Jewell Sharp Corbett, 92, of Valdosta, died on Monday, January 5, 2026, at South Georgia Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was born on April 23, 1933, in Jackson, Georgia to the late Daniel Sharpe and Emmie Arnold Sharp. Mrs. Corbett was a retired factory worker having worked with both Dover Products and Metal Products locally, and was a member of Sardis Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Billy Coffey of Valdosta; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Mann of Jackson, Georgia and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, James W. Corbett; her daughter, Mary Ann Davis; two sons, Dale A. Thorn and Willie Paul Thorn; a grandson, Glenn Corbett, and her parents-in-law, J.L and Flora Corbett.
A graveside service for Emma Corbett will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane.
