Elwanda Cook

Elwanda Cook, 72, of Valdosta, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Langdale Hospice House. She was born on August 30, 1935 in Cairo, GA to the late Willie Lee and Hattie Mae Sellars Nix. Mrs. Cook was retired from Snow White Cleaners.

She is survived by her husband, Elmo D. Cook of Valdosta, two sons, Gary McKown of Valdosta, Jerry McKown of Cairo, three daughters, Sherry Faircloth of Cairo, Kerry Hartley of Tallahassee, FL and Lynn McDaniel of Thomasville, fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one brother, Charles L. Nix of Cairo, GA.

Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, March 8, 2008 at eleven a. m. at Sunset Hill Cemetery with burial to follow. Her son, Gary McKown will officiate.
