Elizabeth L. Poole Davis

Elizabeth L. Poole Davis, 86, of Valdosta, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at Lakehaven Nursing Home.

She was born July 27, 1927, a daughter of Jessie and Maeomie Harnage Loyless. For many years she provided child care in her home, and had a great love for children. Mrs. Davis was a member of Victory Baptist Church, she loved her family and cooking.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Sandra Loyless of Valdosta; a grandson, Terry Taylor of Valdosta; a great-granddaughter, Jacie Taylor of Valdosta; two step-daughters, Shirley Frier and husband Donald of Valdosta, and Linda Pruitt and husband Bill of Lakeland, FL; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Loyless and Maeomie Loyless Griffis; husbands, Everage Poole and J.C. Davis; a son, Pat Poole; three sisters, Jessie Mae Ingram, Peggy Kinney, and Thelma Smith; and a brother, James Loyless.

A graveside service for Mrs. Davis will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 16, 2013, at Hickory Grove Cemetery, with Rev. Steve Ward officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. Thursday, August 15, 2013, at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Condolences may be conveyed to the family at www.mclanecares.com.
