Eleanor E. Weiffenbach, 87, of Valdosta, died on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at The Canopy at Azalea Grove following a lengthy illness. She was born on May 26, 1937, in Jackson, Kentucky to the late Rader and Margaret Smith Gross. Mrs. Weiffenbach received her undergraduate and post graduate degree from the University of South Florida and had served as a guidance counselor for the Lowndes County School System for 20 years. She loved to travel and spend time with her family and was a member of Hahira Community Church.
She is survived by her daughters and a son-in-law, Terri and David Spieler of Monroe, Georgia and Sheree Weiffenbach of Valdosta; a granddaughter and her husband, Chelsea and Brandon Lawrence; her great-grandchildren, Isaiah Spieler and Gisele Spieler; special nephew and his wife, Stephen and Mindy Turner and a special niece, Sally Turner. Mrs. Weiffenbach was preceded by her husband, Norman Conrad Weiffenbach and eight siblings.
Services for Eleanor E. Weiffenbach will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 3 p.m. at the River Pavilion at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mike Davis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the pavilion. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com.
