Edna Earle Arnold

Edna Earle Arnold, 94, of Valdosta, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at SGMC. Mrs. Arnold was born in Lowndes County, GA on January 24, 1924 to the late Charles Edward “Ed” Wells and Annie Belle Moore Wells. Mrs. Arnold worked as a sales clerk at McCrory’s, JCPenny, Pic’N’Save and Playland. She played basketball at Naylor High School and loved the Atlanta Braves. She was passionate about plants and animals and in her latter years greatly enjoyed picture puzzles. She was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Arnold is survived by her children, Martha Jean Laurendeau, Robert E. Arnold, and Paula Gooch all of Valdosta; her four grandchildren, T.J. (Monica) Laurendeau, of Virginia Beach, VA, Eric Laurendeau, of Valdosta, Micah (Kelly) Laurendeau, of Virginia Beach, VA, and Nikki Smith, of Newport News, VA; and three great grandchildren, Abby Laurendeau, Kaili Laurendeau, and Ryan Laurendeau all of Virginia Beach, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wiley Robert Arnold, her sons-in-law Tom Laurendeau, and Robert Gooch, and her brothers Donald and Cauley Wells.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 6 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Chaplain Jimmy Jones officiating.
