In the early morning hours before Dawn, the heavens gained another star. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Easton Franklin Wetherington. Easton was born September 14th, 2015 in Valdosta and died December 18th, 2025 at Wolfson's Children's Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida at the age of 10. Easton attended school at Pine Grove Elementary where he created special relationships with other students and faculty. He seemed to thrive in the chaos and loved music. Easton had lots of challenges in life, but that never stopped him from lighting up the room with his sweet smile. His contagious laughter would spread joy and instantly heal your heart. He loved being around people and affection. Easton was an amazing boy who reminded us everyday that miracles exist. His time on Earth was short but his presence was huge. +
He is survived by his loving and devoted parents Jamie L. and Jamie F. Wetherington of Valdosta, two sisters and a brother, Emily Ellzey, Ella Frei, and Robert Henderson, all of Valdosta ; two great-grandmothers Wanda Harderson of Valdosta and Mary Anne Buckmaster of Aynor, S.C. Other family members include Ashleigh Wetherington, Miquella Wetherington, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is proceeded in death by his uncle Joe Wetherington.
The funeral for Easton will be held at 2 pm on Monday, December 22, 2025, in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. The burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 pm until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Condolences may be conveyed to the family on the obituary page of www.mclanecares.com
