Earlene Juliette Lokey, 85, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026. She was born to the late Nettie and Warren Newton in Moultrie, GA on June 7, 1941.

Mrs. Lokey grew up in Moultrie, Georgia, and worked from a very young age. For one of her first jobs, she was recruited to work in the food court of the “Riverside” cotton mill. Before her retirement, she was a supervisor at Levi Strauss where she had worked for 38 years. Mrs. Lokey was a loving mother and loved to be around her family. She met her late husband, Ken, at a dance at Spence Field, and they were married for 64 years. She was an excellent cook who specialized in southern cuisine. She loved her yard very much and was always working on it, seeing it as a great form of exercise. Devoted to her faith, she was a founding charter member of Trinity Baptist Church. For a period of time, she was also the church’s historian.

Mrs. Lokey is survived by her sons, Keith Lokey and Craig Lokey, both of Valdosta, and Chris (Megan) Lokey of Griffin, GA; grandchildren, Annah Lokey, Beth (Hunter) Parrish, Julie Lokey, Sara Lokey, and Shelby Lokey; and great-grandchild, Gracelyn Parrish. She was preceded by her parents; husband; and siblings, George Newton, Frank Clem Newton, and Charlene Stimley.

A service for Mrs. Lokey will be held on Wednesday, September 23 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 – 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at www.mclanecares.com Carson McLane Funeral Home.
