Dwight Franklin Stalvey

Dwight Franklin Stalvey, 79, of Valdosta died Sunday, May 4, 2025. He was born on May 3, 1946 at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, GA to the late Wiley Raymond Stalvey, Sr. and Mary Ellen Folsom Stalvey. Dwight graduated from Hahira High School in 1964 and was voted best back on the football team. The same year the fishing and hunting column he wrote was voted most read. He then went to GA State for a year and a half. Dwight had a successful career with Auto Finance in Forest Park, GA and retired from there in 2013.

He is survived by his wife, Karen G. Stalvey of Valdosta, son, Michael (Mike) Dwight Stalvey of Douglas and daughter Monica Lynn Stalvey of Adel, grandchildren, Hannah, James, Drake, Erin, Taylor, Cailyn, Austin and Mason, two great grandchildren, sister and brother in law, Brenda and Darryl Weldon of Elkridge, Maryland, two brothers, Raymond Stalvey, Jr. and Wayne Stalvey of Hahira, Karen’s children, Stephanie Giddens of Pearson and Wendy and Michael Powe of Ray City.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 8, 2025 at two p. m. at Salem United Methodist Church, 9032 Salem Church Road, Hahira, GA. Reverend Dennis Stalvey will officiate. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the church in c/o Karen G. Stalvey, 3715 North Valdosta Road, Apt. 80, Valdosta, GA 31602.
