DR. ROBERT DENMAN FISHER

DR. ROBERT DENMAN FISHER, 76, of Valdosta died Saturday, December 25, 2004 at his home. He was born on September 28, 1928 in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Paul Louis and Helen Richard Fisher and had lived in Valdosta since 1973. Dr. Fisher was a veteran of the United States Navy and United States Army and a member of the South Georgia Classic Car Club. He received his Doctorate from Ohio State University and had served as Principal in the Worthington, Ohio School System from 1955-1968. Dr. Fisher was an Emeritus Professor of the Department of Educational Administration and Supervision at Valdosta State University. While at Valdosta State University he served as Director of the Division of Graduate Studies for nine years. Dr. Fisher had served as Professor of Educational Administration at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada and while there conducted a survey of the school facilities of the Province for the government of Canada.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Jeanne Fisher of Valdosta, son and daughter in law, Paul and Lisa Fisher of Macon, GA., daughter and son in law, Emily and Rick Williams of Valdosta, two grandsons, John and Matthew Williams, one stepbrother, Robert Herold of Burleson, TX., his mother in law, Margaret Arnold of Columbus, OH., brother in law and two sisters in law, Kenneth and Donna Arnold of Columbus, OH and Ellie Arnold of Columbus, OH. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Albert Herold, his stepsister, Marion Schlegle, father in law, Kenneth V. Arnold and a brother in law, John Arnold.

Funeral services will be held at 3pm, Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at the Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Dr. Jonah Mitchell of Nicholasville, Kentucky officiating.
