Dorothy Crosby Dees Findley

Dorothy Crosby Dees Findley, 85, of Valdosta, died Friday, July 11, 2014, at Langdale Hospice House. She was born on October 9, 1928, in Brooks County to the late John G. and Elizabeth Stringer Crosby. She was member of St. Augustine Church of Christ and had retired from J.C Penny after working there 25 years. Dorothy enjoyed cooking, gardening, family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Gray (David) of Valdosta; one grandson, Clinton Gray of Overland Park, Kansas and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Dorothy is preceded in death by James Berry Dees and son, James Berry Dees, Jr. She is also preceded in death by James E. Findley.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Deland Guthrie officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery with Bryan Jarvis officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, July 12, 2014 from 5 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
