Doris B. Scott, 88, entered eternal rest on Monday, Sept. 28, 2026, at her son’s home. She was born June 27, 1938, in Wray, Colorado to Edgar and Letha Bowland. After graduating from Wray High School, she studied cosmology and hair style. Duane (Scotty) and Doris were married in Denver, Colorado on July 21, 1957. Very soon after they were married, the US Air Force sent Doris and Duane to Novasseur AB, Morocco, where both their children were born. Doris traveled with her husband Duane V. Scott (deceased) and their children Patricia Scott (Port Orchard Washington), and Craig Scott (Valdosta GA). After their return to the United States, the US Air Force and Army stationed them in Kansas, Florida, Virginia, Colorado, and Germany. They ended their military travels in1977 and moved to San Benito, Texas.

In San Benito Texas, she managed the family business and was caretaker for her mother-in-law and mother until they passed. She was also president of the St. John’s Lutheran church women’s group for over 10 years.

After Scotty passed, she moved to Port Orchard, Washington to be near her daughter Patricia, grandson Curtis, and great grandson Phoenix Scott. While living in Port Orchard she was active in the community as president of the Senior Center, attended the local Lutheran church and enjoyed time spent with Patricia and Phoenix.

In June of 2023 she moved to Valdosta, to spend her remaining years with her son’s family. She lived with Craig and Windy for a little over three years where she got to spend time with grandchildren Lawrence and Amanda Dow, Daryl and Rebecca Ragsdale, great grandchildren, Caleb, Jacob, Avery, Riley, Wesley, Rylan, and Mia.

Doris is survived by her sister Bonni Flageolle of Cabool, MO. She was predeceased by her brothers Lee, Floyd and Everett and sisters Claribelle, and Elaine.
