Doris McCarty Wilson Kneip, 85, of Valdosta, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026. She was born in Uvalde, GA on October 28, 1940 to the late Willie McCarty and Leila Mae Holland McCarty. She met her husband John Jospeh Kneip while she was working for McDonalds and he was a repairman. Following her marriage they moved to Valdosta. She loved being a part of the “Red Hat Society” and an active member of her church Eastern Heights Baptist Church. She was enjoyed the company of her family and friends and loved to complete word puzzles. She was really close to her son Clyde and they were often picking at each other.

Mrs. Kneip is survived by her son Clyde Wilson, of Valdosta, her daughter Cynthia Ham, of Valdosta, and her daughter Diane Sermon, of Ocala, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband John Joseph Kneip and three sons, Chris, Wayne and Bobby Wilson.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Eastern Heights Baptist Church. Pastor Skip Van Nus will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Eastern Heights Church of “OCC.” Online condolences and memories may be made to www.mclanecares.com.
