Doris Cribbs Johnson, 90, of Valdosta, passed away in Jacksonville, Florida, on Monday, May 11, 2026. She was born in Homerville, Georgia, on March 3, 1936, to the late Willie Cribbs and Bessie Williams Cribbs.

At the age of 16, Doris left school to work in a cigar factory to help support her family, a reflection of her strong work ethic and dedication to those she loved. She was a hardworking woman who loved people and enjoyed traveling. Doris later worked for Crackin' Good Bakery for 25 years before retiring.In 1987, she married Lucian Mitchell Johnson, a retired U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel. They shared many happy years together until his passing in 2008. Through her husband’s service in three wars, Doris developed a deep sense of patriotism and pride in her country.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by six brothers and their wives; four sisters and their husbands; children, Mary Goodin and Betty Goodin; two grandsons; one step-grandson; one stepson; two brothers-in-law; and two sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and child, Jackie Minor.
