DORIS DELITA WISENBAKER BARWICK, 81, of Valdosta, passed away at South Georgia Medical Center on December 20, 2025, following a lengthy illness. She was born in Valdosta, Georgia on November 2, 1944, to the late Lewis Byrd and Cuba Carter Wisenbaker. She was born in an old log home on Knights Ferry Road, Valdosta, GA, and was the baby of seven siblings. She graduated from Lowndes High School in 1961 with honors, and on June 24, 1963, she married Hardy Bruce Barwick, Jr.
Delita had two beautiful girls that were her life, she stayed home to raise them and after they finished high school she went to work for Hendley's Cabinet shop as the secretary and worked for 24 years until she retired. She loved to quilt with her good friend Glenda Cofield. Delita would do the quilting, and Glenda would finish it for her. Delita was a member of the Redland Church of Christ, and she wanted her Christian family to know how much she really loved them.
Survivors include her husband Hardy Bruce Barwick, Jr.; daughter, Brenda Ann Barwick Parrish (Jimmy) of Valdosta; grandsons, Matthew Ryan Parham and Dustin Bryan Holton of Valdosta, GA; granddaughter Kelsey Bryce Holton of Valdosta, GA; great granddaughter, Amelia Cox of Homerville, GA; and great grandson Connor Bryan Holton of Valdosta, GA. She will be remembered by four nieces whom she loved dearly, Linda Cruz, Patricia Ricks, Cindy Critchfield and Kathy Carter; and a very special friend Linda Kaye Parham. She had so many special friends whom she loved deeply that there would not be enough space to name them all.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Debra Lynn Barwick, and grandson Thomas Jeffery Parham, Jr.
A funeral service for Delita will be held at 11am on Friday, December 26, 2025, in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Dasher Cemetery. The family will visit prior to the service from 10-11am. Online condolences may be shared at www.mclanecares.com
