Donna Jean Bass

Donna J. Bass, 82, of Lakeland Villa, died Wednesday, March 17, 2021. Born in Taplin, West Virginia, on November 11, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Bernard Edward Paynter and Edna Mae Pinson Paynter. Mrs. Bass was retired from the Lowndes County School Board. She was a Baptist.
Survivors are her sons, Bo and Tracy Southers of Hahira, Jimmy and Becky Southers of Lakeland, Florida, daughter, Tonya Southers of Valdosta; special granddaughters, Lindsey and Lauren Varnadore, grandsons, B.J. and Kimmy Southers, Daniel and Kristin Southers, Ethan Southers, Sebastian Southers, Joey Hendley, Jr. and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Hendley, and a sister, Helen Hagood.
