Deborah Horne Green, 73, of Valdosta, Ga, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026. She was born in Macon, Ga on May 4, 1952. Deborah spent her childhood in Cochran, Ga and she graduated from Cochran High School, class of 1970. She attended Georgia Southern College and completed her degree in education at Valdosta State College. While attending Georgia Southern, she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority, and she met the love of her life, Rayford Alex Green. They married on August 19,1972. Deborah enjoyed teaching third grade at W.G. Nunn Elementary School, and she loved seeing her former students in the community. Deborah treasured spending time with her family and friends, and she enjoyed cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs. She is survived by her loving family, Rayford Alex Green, Merritt Elizabeth Green, Cooley and Debbie Hobdy, John and Rainee Hobdy, Josh and Lindsey Hobdy (Wells, Hayes, Baker). Deborah was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Julian “Rawlins” and Sarah Horne as well as her nephew, Justin T. Hobdy.

Funeral services will held at the Mausoleum at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at 2 pm. The family will receive friends at the mausoleum at 1 pm prior to the service.
