Debbie Powell, 68, of Lake Park, died on Monday, March 30, 2026, at South Georgia Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was born in Gainesville, Georgia on May 3, 1957, to the late Hanie Cothran and Mary Ellen Lowe Cothran. Debbie lost both of her parents when still a small child and was primarily raised by her grandparents and referred to them as her parents. Debbie was a lover of music and played piano, organ, and tambourine, liked visiting with people, riding motorcycles and was a huge animal lover. Debbie was of the Christian faith.

She is survived by her husband, Danny Powell of Lake Park; her children and their spouses, Tammy and Billy Sirman of Jasper, Georgia, Tina and Jamie Howard of Oxford, Georgia, Tonya Powell of Forrest Park, Georgia, Roger and Amber Loggins of Alabama, and Nicky and Nicole Loggins of Canada; 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Elaine Dickerson and her brother-in-law, Andy Powell. She was preceded by her grandparents who raised her, Edith and Carl Arnette, her brother Pete Lowe, two brothers-in-law, Michael Powell and Dennis Powell, sister-in-law Kay Powell, and her granddaughter Chassidy Ann Conner.

Services for Debbie Powell will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Willis officiating. The burial will follow in the Lake Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
