Mr. David Louis Branch, III, aged 68, of Valdosta, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024, at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on August 18, 1955, in Augusta, GA, to the late Dr. David Louis Branch, Jr., and Barbara Ann Sheffield Branch. Mr. Branch dedicated many years of service as a school psychologist for Valdosta City Schools, as well as with the Valdosta Police Department, Remerton Police Department, and most recently, Ware State Department of Corrections.
A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Branch served in security roles at embassies worldwide including China, Austria, Finland, and Russia. He was known for his kindness and good nature. He deeply loved his wife and son. Mr. Branch attended Morningside Baptist Church and Valdosta Korean Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son, David Louis Branch, IV, of Kennesaw, GA; sisters: Julie Lansdell (Mike) of Valdosta, and Bebo Blanton (Ronnie) of Valdosta; brother, Bob Branch (Diann) of Cumming, GA; nieces: Amber Martin (Luke) of Cumming, GA., Jordan Cain (Tyler) of Woodstock, GA., and Gracie Lansdell of Manhattan, KS; nephews: Madison Taylor of Cambridge, MA, Jerry Lansdell of Valdosta, GA, and Baines Blanton of Valdosta, GA.
Mr. Branch was predeceased by his wife, Jae Sook Branch, and his parents.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10:30 am on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Quitman, Georgia. Memorial donations can be made to Valdosta Korean Baptist Church at 5079 Bemiss Road, Valdosta, GA 31605 in lieu of flowers.
