David Shelley Arnold, 84, of Valdosta, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at The Orchard at Stone Creek. He was born on March 6, 1942, to the late James Edgar Arnold and Carrie Harden Arnold.

David graduated from Valdosta High School and Valdosta State College. Following graduation, he worked with Brock Candy Co. In 1968, he obtained his Georgia Real Estate and Broker licenses and began his lifelong career in real estate sales, development, and construction with The Arnold Co.

David loved being outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing and hunting.

David was a member of Park Avenue Church. His love of God and family was his greatest joy!

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Cheryl Arnold of Valdosta; his son and daughter-in-law, David Russell "Russ" and Megan Arnold of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina; his daughter and son-in-law, Keri and Blake Bonner of Valdosta; and his beloved grandchildren, Jack Arnold, Charlie Bonner, and Bowen Bonner. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Charlotte Arnold of Thomasville, Georgia; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gordon and Jan Crozier of Orange Beach, Alabama; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Elaine and Avery Blanton of Valdosta; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Yvonne and Jim Andrews of West Monroe, Louisiana; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy Arnold and Ed Arnold.

A funeral service for Mr. Arnold will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. The Rev. Jamie Bone will officiate, and burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m.
