Danny Richard Truman

Danny Richard Truman, 81, of Valdosta, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Archbold Hospital in Thomasville. Born on March 4, 1944, in Kokomo, Indiana, Danny was the beloved son of the late Donald R. Truman and Irene Sapp Truman Sellars. A proud United States Army Veteran, Danny served his country with honor in Germany during the Vietnam Era. Following his military service, he worked as a log truck driver for Tommy Morgan Logging. Danny was a lifelong member of Cat Creek Primitive Baptist Church.

Despite being disabled and wheelchair-bound due to an accident, Danny’s spirit remained unbroken. Known for his pleasant demeanor and warm smile, he touched the lives of many by always greeting others with kindness and grace. Danny’s legacy of resilience will be remembered by those who knew and loved him.

Danny is survived by his daughter, Tracey Fisher of Texas; grandchildren, Jacob Dalton Fisher, and Zoi Renee Rico; and his great-grandchildren, Athena Grace Fisher, Maverick Fisher, and Axel Fisher. He also leaves behind his brother and sister-in-law, Dewayne, and Sylvia Sellars; nephew, Jay Sellars; and cousins, Jack Sapp, Peggy and Dale Vansickle, and Saundra Ann Haymer. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack and Airy Sapp, his parents, J.L. and Irene Sellars, cousins, Ann Bennett, Jerry Callahan and Billy Sapp.

Services to honor Danny’s life will be held on Saturday November 1, 2025, in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home at 11:00 am with burial to follow at Cat Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
