Corene Croft Walters

Corene Croft Walters, 76, of Valdosta, died on Monday, June 18, 2012 at South Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness. She was born in Berlin, Georgia on October 1, 1935 to the late Ira and Josephine Griffin Croft and has been a resident of this area all her life. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Eric Hendricks of Valdosta, Vicki Walters of Valdosta, Terri and Roger Garrett of Lake City, Florida, Barbara and Tim Bruce of Valdosta; granddaughters and spouses, Michelle and Santiago Iturralde of Valdosta, Erica and Mike Blalock of Quitman, Brooke Chaney of Valdosta and Callie Garrett of Lake City, Florida; great-grandchildren, Audrey Blalock, Jaylee Blalock, Bella Iturralde, Grady Iturralde, Lanie Iturralde, and Deziah "Desi-Lou" Garrett; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mildred and Billy Watson of Hahira, Kay and Mike Sikes of Lakeland, Georgia; brother and sister-in-law, Colbert and Joyce Croft of Valdosta; sister-in-law, Mildred Croft of Valdosta; a very special friend, Tina Folsom of Valdosta; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Walters, and seven brothers and sisters.

Services for Corene Croft Walters will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. The burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
