Clifford Lee Pound, 57, of Valdosta, peacefully passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at South Georgia Medical Center. Born on December 1, 1968, in Griffin, Georgia, Clifford was the son of Clarence Braxton Pound, Jr. and the late Bettie Jean Bowron Pound. A graduate of McDonough Christian Academy in the mid-1980s, he went on to attend Valdosta State College before returning to Griffin to work alongside his family.

Clifford had a deep passion for music, skillfully playing multiple instruments including keyboard, drums, and guitar. He delighted in performing with his band, ‘Scrap Digby,’ and he named his faithful dog “Digby”, who accompanied him everywhere.

Clifford is survived by his father, Clarence Braxton Pound, Jr. of Valdosta; his brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Patty Pound of Griffin; his sister and brother-in-law, Laura and John Hansen of Valdosta; as well as his cherished nieces and nephews: Lacey and Dan Duggan, Mary Beth and Briggs Smothermann, Sara and Kevin Thompson, and Taylor and Allison Pound. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bettie Pound.
