Cecelia V. Hiers

CECELIA V. HIERS, 84, of Valdosta died Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at the Lakehaven Nursing Home. She was born on April 22, 1922 in Valdosta to the late George and Birdie Green Voigt and was a lifelong resident of Valdosta. Mrs. Hiers was retired from Bank of America and a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Walker/Harris/Friendship Sunday School Class.

Survivors include four granddaughters and grandson in law, Rev. E. Tracy Hunter of St. Petersburg, Fla., Tara J. and Randy C. Bunn of Orange Park, Fla., Amanda Estep and Meg Philips both of Jacksonville, Fla., grandson, Scott Hunter of Atlantic Beach, Fla., great grandchildren, Hunter C. Bunn, Hannah Beth Bunn, Hayden Edrie Bunn, Christina Estep and Heather Estep, two sons in law and their wives,, L. Franklin and Janice Hunter of Atlantic Beach, Fla. and Gene and Connie Philips of Jacksonville, Fla. and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth W. Hiers and a daughter, Edrie Hiers Philips.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Friday, June 16, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Hibberts and Rev. E. Tracy Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
