Cathy Jean Spradley

Cathy Hurst Spradley, 65, of Valdosta died on Friday, January 26, 2024, at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born on December 10, 1958, in Hahira, to the late Arthur David and Inez Bullard Hurst. Cathy was a homemaker who loved fishing, going shopping, and loving and spending time with her grandchildren. She attended the Swilley Hill Church of God.


She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Leann and Remer Wisenbaker of Valdosta, Jamie and Andrew Thompson of Valdosta, Melissa Layman of Valdosta, Donna Martin of San Antonio, Texas, Patricia Ganzer of Valdosta; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Kyna Spradley of Tennessee; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Leon and Debbie Hurst of Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara Crews and William Shultz of Valdosta; brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Liane Hurst of Michigan; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her husband Oree Spradley.


A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Copeland Cemetery with Rev. Andy Pearson officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 on Wednesday at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane.
