Carolyn Margaret Pierce, aged 83, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, in Valdosta. She was born in Pasadena, CA, on March 8, 1941, to her late parents Donald and Margaret Clapp. Carolyn's journey began in Newport Beach, CA, where she graduated from Newport Harbor High School and embarked on a career at the Newport Beach Police Department as a dispatcher. Later, she pursued her passion for travel as a stewardess with United Airlines, before dedicating her time to raising her daughters.
She then enriched the lives of many working at St. Joseph’s Hospital for over a decade. Later, working for Morrison Knudson Construction company before relocating to Idaho in the late 1980s, where she resided in Boise and Buhl, and eventually settled in Valdosta, Georgia in 2020 following the loss of her husband.
Carolyn is survived by her loving daughters and their families: Jessica and Cary Moore of Loomis, CA, and Jennifer and Ted Kanne of Valdosta; She was also Nonnie to Jamie (& C.J.) Stunkard of Wilmington, DE, Ashley (& Joel) Baker of Denmark, Sarah Kanne of Newport Beach, CA, Timothy (& Leanna) Kanne of Auburn, AL, and Hannah Kanne of Marina, CA. Additionally, she will be fondly remembered by her stepchildren and their families; Rob (& Linda) Pierce of Reno, NV and their children, Karina (& Derek) Lemus of Reno, NV, Kelsie (& Brandon) Henke of Washington, and Kasandra (& Patrick) Burrows of Colorado; Jennifer (& Coleman) Wilson of Odessa, FL, and their children Austin Wilson, currently stationed with the Army in Alaska, and Taylor Wilson of Odessa, FL; Kevin (& Kelli) Pierce currently stationed with the Army in McCordsville, IN and their children, Grace Pierce of Boston, MA, and Emma Pierce of New York; Brad (& Vicki) Elfring of Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Pierce, and her former husbands Jerry Johnson and Bill Elfring.
