Caroline Townsend Deming

Caroline Townsend Deming, 86, of Valdosta died Monday, June 22, 2009 at Langdale Place. She was born on April 28, 1923 in Valdosta to the late Lee and Eva Wisenbaker Townsend and was a lifelong resident of Valdosta. Mrs. Deming was an active member of the Central Avenue Church of Christ and was retired from C& S Bank as a personal banking representative. She enjoyed spending time with her family, working in her church and serving her customers at the bank.

Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Nancy Karen (Kay) Deming and Edward L. Addison of Marietta, two grandchildren, Zack Cameron Deming and his wife, Cole Deming of Atlanta, McCree Deming Woodall and her husband, William Orson Woodall, Jr. of Valdosta, two great grandchildren, William Orson Woodall, III and Wren Oliver Woodall both of Valdosta, daughter in law, Harriette Deming Warner of Atlanta, her sister, Hazel Rentz of Lake Park. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lionel Ebbert Deming, a son, Lee Frank Deming, her brothers and sisters, Lee Townsend, William Townsend, Ruby Jean Townsend, Grady Townsend, James Townsend, Doris Ranew and Louise Townsend.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Wednesday, June 24, 2009 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. John Klimko and Mr. Gordon Teffeteller officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Central Avenue Church of Christ or to the Raintree Village Children's Home.
