Carl Eugene Preston Bennett

Carl Eugene Preston Bennett, 65, of Valdosta, passed away at the Tift Regional Hospital on February 27, 2022 after battling with several medical conditions over the past year. Carl was born on January 3, 1957, in Naylor, GA, to late Henry Hershel and Lula Mildred Cone Bennett. He was raised in Valdosta, GA, and was a true Valdosta Wildcat football fan. He was from a large family and always loved to help everyone out when he could. He also enjoyed gardening, collecting coins and playing Pokémon Go with his friends and family.
Carl was preceded in death by brothers, Hershel E. "Buddy" Bennett, Raymond C. Bennett, Jessie Parr, and sisters Nora Leigh Lightsey, Annie Pearl Shaw, Mildred Janet Bennett and Sandra B. Mckenzie.
Survivors include his partner of 42 years, Alan Conger of Valdosta, three sisters, Edna Mae Stains of Lakeland, Gloria (Andres) Felipe of Hahira, and Lizzie Barnard of Lake Park; one brother, Samuel A. Parr "Jr" of Albany. He has numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved as if they were his own.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Friday, March 4, 2022 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Wilkes Cemetery.
