Candy Harper, 74, of Hahira, died on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at her residence. She was born on October 3, 1950, in Miami, Florida to the late Charles and Ethel Hutto Harper. Candy was known for her sense of humor and her zeal for life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hahira and also served as the church administrative assistant. Candy enjoyed a long career with the Home Mission Board, beginning in 1976, and ending her career with the North American Mission Board in 2010. She had several jobs throughout her 34 year career and was best known for serving missionaries as Benefits and Insurance Coordinator.
Candy is survived by her nephews, Jason Dennler and Jonathan Dennler both of Roswell, Georgia; a great-niece, Lyric Dennler of Valdosta; her aunts, Rudine Vickers of Hahira, Bonnie Breed of Cocoa, Florida, and Carol Hutto of Canton, Georgia.
What truly made Candy unique was her gift of listening. No matter if your story was filled with excitement or the simplest everyday moments, she listened like it mattered—because to her, it did. Her patience, understanding, and open heart made her a sanctuary for those in need of comfort, laughter, or just someone to talk to, an example of someone that was truly selfless.
