Calvin Bruce Fussell, 80, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on December 11, 2025. Born on June 4, 1945, in Homerville, GA, to the late Homer and Pauline Fussell.

Calvin, AKA “Beautiful Butch” to his loved ones, lived a decorative life full of stories, witty humor, music, and knowledge. Underneath all that tall, handsome posterior was a heart of gold big enough to make everyone he met feel safe and loved. Not only was he a protector of his family and friends, but also a protector of our country, proudly serving in the United States Navy on the ship USS Randolf. Anyone who knew Calvin knew he was never without a guitar in his arms and a tune to ease the blues.

Calvin is preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Pauline; sister, Betty Marini, and brother, Austin Jerome Fussell.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Linda Fussell; daughter, Tracey Fussell (Larry); son, Calvin Bruce Fussell II (Josefa Fussell); daughter, Teisha Gunter (Raymond Gunter); and daughter, Samantha Fussell (Larry Bryant Jr). He also leaves behind his wonderful grandchildren, Johnathan Denison, Daileigh Watson, Savannah Munoz, Stephen Fussell, Zachary Bradford, Lyric Roden, Valencia Fussell, River Mathis, and Harmony Cantu, along with 10 great-grandsons and 6 great-granddaughters. Along with his sister, Patsy House, and his brother, Edward Fussell.

The visitation and funeral will be on December 15, 2025, at 2 pm at the Chapel of the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park, Georgia, with a visitation taking place one hour before the service at 1 pm.
