Boone Marion Vernon

Boone Marion Vernon, 86 of Valdosta, died on Monday, May 08, 2006 at South Georgia Medical Center. Born on January 17, 1920 in Earl, AR, he was the son of the late Henry Vernon and Gertrude Vernon. Mr. Vernon was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Hollaway Vernon. Survivors are his daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Marvin Ray of Valdosta; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Minor and Natalie Vernon of Macon; five grandchildren, Karen and Joe Hobson of Ft Myers, FL, Mendi and Clay Griner of Valdosta, Stewart and Shannon Vernon, Claire Vernon and Hampton Vernon all of Macon; five great grandchildren and a sister, Reba Plummer of Fruita, CO.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2006 in the Mausoleum Chapel at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens with burial following the service. Dr. Phil West and Reverend Mac Weaver will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time in the Mausoleum Chapel at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens.
