Bob Milton
Green
Oct 3, 1933 — Sep 29, 2026
Valdosta, Georgia
Bob Milton Green, 92, of Valdosta, GA, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 surrounded by his family in his home. Born in Kathleen, GA, on October 3, 1933, Bob moved to Valdosta as a young boy, a town that would become central to his life and legacy.
He graduated from Valdosta High School before attending Valdosta State College, where he was instrumental in starting the college’s baseball program. A talented athlete, he played for VSC, finishing with an impressive .333 batting average, and went on to play for the Valdosta Red Sox for many years. In later years, he remained an avid tennis player and, admittedly, frustrated golfer. Bob was always driven by a vibrant competitive spirit.
That same energy translated into his professional life as the founder and owner of the Ga. Fla. Beauty Supply, which he successfully operated for over 50 years. Beyond his career, Bob had a deep passion for travel and loved taking family and friends along to share in the adventure.
Though known for his competitive nature, Bob was equally defined by his tender heart. He was always quick to help family, friends, and strangers alike whenever he saw a need. Above all, he loved the Lord. His faith was reflected daily through his deeds, of love, kindness, compassion, and perseverance. A leader by example. Bob and Mary loved their church family at Central Ave. Church of Christ, which they attended for 45 years.
Bob was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 72 years, Mary Joyce; parents, Martha and Alexander Green; siblings, Betty, Alfred, O’Neal, Nolan, Horace, and Bryan; son-in-law, Floyd Goldman; grandson, James Wilkinson; and great-granddaughter, Laney Goldman.
He is survived by his children, Suzanne (Kevin) Bell, Sandra (Jay) Cobb, Bob Green Jr., Dana (Thom) Wilkinson, and John R. Green; sister, Rachel Hayes; grandchildren, Justin (Tracy) Bell, Jonathan (Katie) Bell, Brandon (Nicole) Goldman, Trevor Green, Thomas Wilkinson, Lanier Wilkinson, John Riccio Green, Marianne (Austin) Roark, and Catherine (David) Elrod; great-grandchildren, Evelynn, Gwendolyn, Vivian, and Luke Bell, Harper and Hadley Bell, Wyatt and Birdie Goldman, Khloee Anne Ford, Austin Roark Jr., and Parker Ruby Elrod.
The family of Bob wishes to express their gratitude to his caregivers over the past few years. Special thanks to Dr. Anil Gupta and staff, and also to Dr. Leon Smith and staff for their extraordinary care in difficult times. Hospice of South GA and Comfort Keepers gave us the support to enable Dad’s wish of being home before going to heaven. A truly amazing care team.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Hospice of South GA, Langdale Hospice House, or Central Avenue Church of Christ, Valdosta, GA.
