Billie Gail Green

Billie Gail Green, 81, of Valdosta, died on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at her residence following a period of declining health. She was born in Valdosta on October 15, 1941, to the late Wilbur and Lillie Mae Starling Cowart and has been a lifelong resident of this area. She was a retired seamstress from the Levi’s Company in Valdosta and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Valdosta Chapter 244. Mrs. Green was a voracious reader and would read any and everything from Ann Rule to Anne B. Ross and was known for being quite the trivia buff. Mrs. Green was of the Christian faith.

She is survived by her daughter, Greta Petitt of Valdosta; her grandchildren, Chad and Paige Culpepper of Valdosta, Lance Culpepper of Lake Park, and Erica Bowman of Mansfield, Ohio; her great-grandchildren, Kelsie Culpepper, Ava Culpepper, both of Brooks County and Amelia Grace Bowman of Mansfield, Ohio; one brother, Robert Cowart of Hamilton County, Florida. She was preceded by her husband, Ronald Green; her daughter, Hope Culpepper Hand; her sister, Jean Edwards and her brother, Roger Cowart.
