Betty Jean "Chickie" Birbiglia

Betty Jean "Chickie" Martin Birbiglia, 82, of Hahira, died Thursday, January 15, 2009 at Lakehaven Nursing Home. She was born on April 25, 1926 in Wirt, New York to the late Taliesin Fay and Clara Marie Ward Martin. Mrs. Birbiglia was a retired registered nurse from Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, New York. She was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Birbiglia is survived by one daughter and son in law, Bari and Creighton Hill of Mesa, Arizona, one daughter in law, Susan Birbiglia of Hahira, one son in law, Chino Nair of Yonkers, New York, three grandchildren, Gabrielle Birbiglia, Kira Birbiglia and Gavin Nair. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bertram Jerome Birbiglia, Sr., her son, Bertram Jerome (Jerry) Birbiglia, Jr. and her daughter, Gloria Nair.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 24, 2009 at two p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from one p. m. until two p. m. Saturday at the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at mclanefuneralservices.com.
