Betty Myers Apperson

Betty Myers Apperson, 83, passed away Monday January 27, 2025, at South Georgia Medical Center. Betty was born in Cook County and raised in Ray City, Georgia. She lived for a short period of time in Hollywood, Florida. Since, she has been a lifelong resident of Valdosta. Betty was a caring and devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed gardening and loved cooking. She loved the Lord, and was a devoted pianist and church member for many years.

She is survived by her children, Brenda Corey (Steven), Stan Garner (Erica) and Kay Newham (Steve); grandchildren, Christina Nichols, Brittany Brown (Jeremy), Melanie Clark (Devaughn), Rachel Garner, Olivia Garner, and Kayla and Zach Newham; great- grandchildren, Alyssa Nichols, Alaina Nichols, Brylee Brown, Adalyn Brown, Isla Brown, Bowen Brown, and Emberlyn Newham; and sister, Myrtle Harris. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, Perry and Evelyn Myers, and a sister Willamae Vitone.

Mrs. Apperson will have a graveside service 2pm on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Carter Cemetery in Lake Park, Georgia. Condolences to the family may be conveyed at www.mclanefuneralservices.com.
