Bessie L. Blythe

Bessie L. Blythe, 86, of Valdosta, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Haven Hospice in Lake City, FL following a brief illness. Bessie was born on December 2, 1931 in Richmond, KY to the late William Frank Smith and Allie Todd Smith. Bessie was a retired floral designer who last was employed at The Flower Shop in Lake Park, GA. Bessie loved to work in her garden and canning vegetables. She loved and spoiled her grandchildren. She was of the Protestant-Baptist Faith.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years Norwood Blythe of Lake Park, GA, her daughters Glenna Sue Peter of Clyattville, GA, Alethea (Angelo) Desimone, of Dawsonville, GA, Jenenne (Thomas) Parks, of Jasper, FL, Yvonne (Kevin) Cain, of Jackson County, KY, five grandchildren, her sister Hazel (Austin) Williams, of Valdosta, her brothers William O. Smith, of McKee, KY, and Kenneth Ray (Betty) Smith, of Richmond, KY, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Bessie will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 16, 2018, at McLane Lakewood Funeral Home with Reverend Eldridge Lyons officiating. Burial will follow at Lake Park Cemetery.
