Benie Newsom Ezell, 97, of Valdosta, died Friday, December 15, 2006. She was born in Lowndes County on December 16, 1908 to the late Annanias and Sallie Swilley Newsom. Mrs. Ezell was a homemaker, a member of Corinth Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Alexander (Tomie) Ezell, Jr.
She is survived by two nephews, Albert Swilley and Walter Newsom of Valdosta, one niece, Emma Jean Benton of Thomasville.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 16, 2006 at four p. m. in the Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Reverend Henry Cannington and Reverend Wayne Hughes officiating. Entombment will follow. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at mclanefuneralservices.com.
