Barney Eugene Newsome

Barney Eugene Newsome, 56, of Valdosta died Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the Langdale Hospice House after a short illness. He was born in France on August 20, 1956 to Mary Phillips Newsome and the late Curtis W. Newsome and had lived in this area most of his life. He was of the Church of God faith.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Phillips Newsome of Valdosta, three sisters and brothers in law, Cynthia and Billy McNeal of Leesburg, Barbara and Edgar Smith of Valdosta, Penny and Johnny Justice of Lake Park, special friend, Jeannie Minner of Valdosta, numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at New Seasons Church of God with Rev. Jason Burns officiating. Burial will follow in the Fender Cemetery near Lakeland.
