IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara Jean
Morrison
August 10, 1933 – February 9, 2026
Graveside Service
Hall Cemetery
1:00 - 2:00 pm (Eastern time)
Barbara Jean (Becton) Morrison, 92, passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Orlando Health Hospital.
Barbara was born on August 10, 1933, in Hahira, Georgia, to Gordon Eugene “Bill” Becton and Bessie Carson (Vickers) Becton. She was one of six siblings: Benny (deceased), Bonnie Gail, Tommy, Johnny, Gloria, and Jerry.
Early in her life she was raised in Frostproof, FL. She cherished her time there. Her family later moved to Georgia. She graduated from Morven High School May 29, 1950.
On April 25, 1952, Barbara married the love of her life, James Angus Morrison, in Quitman, Georgia. Together they built a life grounded in love, faith, and dedication to family. They began their journey working at Shiver Gin Company in Morven, Georgia. On January 9, 1956, Angus was drafted into the United States Army and stationed at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. During their time there, they welcomed their daughter, Becki, in April 1957.
After completing his military service, the family moved to Orlando, Florida, where Barbara would live the remainder of her life.
Barbara had a strong work ethic. She truly loved to work and loved talking to others about their careers as well. She built a fulfilling career that included time with Martin Marietta and Walt Disney World and even helped develop EPCOT through her work with construction companies. In 1991, she founded Morrison Tractor Service and successfully operated the business for eight years. In July 1993, she and Angus started Angus Construction, Inc. alongside their daughter and son-in-law, Becki and Dan. She was proud of the businesses they built and grateful for the opportunity to work side by side with her family – including juggling business calls while keeping her two energetic grandsons from fighting!
Barbara was a long-time member of Belle Isle Community Church where she was active in Bible Studies and Women’s groups. She was hospitable, generous and a skilled baker – known for her many cakes and pies. She would say that cooking was her greatest joy.
Barbara was vibrant with a great sense of humor. She loved to laugh, and her laughter was unmistakable and contagious. Once she got “tickled,” you couldn’t help but laugh with her. Above all, Barbara cherished the family God blessed her with. Her grandchildren and greatgrandchild were her greatest joys and the light of her life.
As she aged she became an adopted grandmother to so many. She received daily visits and calls seeking her advice or just her listening ear. You always felt comfortable in her home. She knew true southern hospitality. She was a trusted friend who always offered encouragement.
She is survived by her daughter, Becki Rexrode; her grandchildren, Matthew Rexrode and his wife Jennifer, and Michael Rexrode; and her great-granddaughter, Lauren Rexrode.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Angus Morrison, and her son-in-law, Danny Rexrode.
While her family mourns her passing, they rejoice in the promise of eternal life and take comfort knowing she is at peace in the presence of her Savior.
A graveside service for Barbara will be held at 1pm on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Hall Cemetery. Reverend Frank Gupton will officiate. Online condolences may be shared at www.mclanecares.com.
