Barbara Jean Pipkins Bailey

Barbara Jean Pipkins Bailey, 80, a lifelong resident of Lake Park, passed away Monday, March 10, 2014, at her home.

She was born June 11, 1933 in Valdosta, a daughter of the late Roy T. and Juanita Carter Pipkins. Mrs. Bailey was a member of Lake Park Church of God, she enjoyed fishing and the mountains.

She is survived by her five children and their spouses, Wayne and Faye Smith, Gerald (B.B.) and Katie Smith, Debbie and Martin Golden, Tammy and Danny Johnson, and Travis LeGette, all of Lake Park; her little loving companion, Bootsie; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and two special caregivers, Roxanne Thompson of Lake Park, and Joan McCranie of Valdosta. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Bailey.

The family extends their deep gratitude to United Hospice for their care and compassion for Mrs. Bailey and the family.

The Funeral Service for Mrs. Bailey will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014, at the Chapel of McLane Lakewood Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Sandlin officiating.
