Barbara A. Foster, 86, of Valdosta, GA, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026. Mrs. Foster was born on June 20, 1940 to the late Dorothy (Punzell) Mozes and Frank Mozes in Ellwood, PA.
One of Mrs. Foster’s first jobs was with the Carcaise Family Construction Company in Ellwood PA. She attended Gallitzin High School in Baden, PA, before studying at Geneva College. In 1976 she moved to Valdosta where she got a job as a secretary for the Dowling Bag Co. whilst she pursued her masters degree in Marriage and Couples Therapy at VSU. After her graduation she worked at the Greenleaf Center. She then began working for the Florida State Prison System at the Hamilton Correctional Facility whilst also running her own private practice as a licensed marriage and family therapist. She also held a supervisory degree in marriage and family therapy and was licensed in both Georgia and Florida.
Mrs. Foster was highly regarded and well-respected in her work. She was also a devout catholic, and enjoyed helping at St. John’s Catholic Church, which she attended. In 2007, Mrs. Foster married her husband, Charles Foster, and they loved to go camping and fishing together.
Mrs. Foster is survived by her husband, Charles Foster; her son, Scott Krachinsky and his partner, Sabrina Zellers, of Valdosta; her brother, Dennis Mozes, of Beaver Falls, PA and Linda Gordon of Ellwood, PA; her grandchildren, Dawson, Bailey, Logan, Cora Foster, Sue Foster, Steven Foster, Alyssa, Hoyt Foster, and Addison White; her nieces, Susie Sylvest, Suzanne Page, Amy Lawler, and Heather Sue Roe; mother-in-law, Mary Segal; brother-in-law, Richard (Kathy) Foster; sister-in-law, Sue (John) Walters; sons and daughter, Brian (Betsy) Foster, Phillip (Amy) Foster, and Carree (Sean) White; and caregiver, Anne Curry. She was preceded by her parents, and her sister, Kathy Gartley.
A memorial service for Mrs. Foster will be held on Thursday, June 9, at St. John’s Catholic Church at 12noon. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service from 11a.m. – 12noon.
