Annie Ruth Meadows Galaspie

Annie Ruth Meadows Galaspie, 78, left for heaven on Thursday, November 10, 2011, from Heritage House Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. Born in Valdosta, Georgia on December 29, 1932 she was the daughter of the late Julian C. and Ora Lee Coody Barfield. A retired school teacher, Mrs. Galaspie had taught school in Long Island, New York. A thirty two year resident of Richmond, Virginia she had made her home in Valdosta for the past 7 years. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors are her daughter, Robin Galaspie of Richmond, Virginia; a son, Paul Galaspie of Detroit, Michigan; a son and daughter in law, Bill and Linda Galaspie of Richmond, Virginia; four grandchildren; numerous special nieces and nephews, including, Vickie Meadows, Richard and Shirley Meadows, Julie and Charles Cowart and Debbie Martin all of Valdosta. She was preceded in death by a son, Edward Grady Galaspie, an infant daughter, and a brother, John H. Meadows.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, November 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Reverend John Akers will officiate.
