Anne Wooley

Anne Rice Wooley, 84, of Lake Park, GA, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. Anne, born February 6, 1939 in Meridian, MS, was preceded in death by her parents Evelyn & Harry Rice, husband M.C. Wooley, Jr., brother Harry, and grandson Garrison McDaniel. Anne leaves behind her children, Debbie (Kevin) McDaniel, Jeff (Lesa) Wooley, and Lea Wooley, grandchildren Lacey (Kyle) Williams, Morgan McDaniel, Kristin (Jared) Hanna, Emalee (James) Garrett, Samantha (Dorsey) Mathis, and Amy Gail (John Lex) Kenerly and great-grandchildren Gabe, Melody, Conner, Grayson, Brooks, and Howell.

Anne met and married M.C. in 1959 during their time at Ole Miss University. They were married for 52 years and enjoyed time in Mississippi, Wisconsin, and Virginia before settling in Lake Park, GA, where Anne took great joy in raising their three children, and M.C. worked at Owens Illinois from 1973-1997 before retiring as mill manager. Anne enjoyed coffee with friends, travel (always had a suitcase ready!), golf, piano, cross-stitching, and spending time with her loved ones, especially her beloved friend Mr. Al McCreight. Anne was the kindest wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her warmth and joy will be treasured always.

Memorial services will be held at 3pm on Friday, June 16, 2023 at McLane Lakewood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2-3pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would be honored by a gift to Lake Park United Methodist Church endowment fund (P.O. Box 130, Lake Park, GA 31636) or Hospice of South GA.
