Anna Marion Johnson

Anna Marion Johnson, 75, of Valdosta, died on Sunday, July 18, 2010. A Valdosta native, Mrs. Johnson was born on July 1, 1935 the daughter of the late Clyde W. and Catherine Adair Lankford Meacham. She was the widow of the late George R. Johnson.

Mrs. Johnson was retired from Valdosta Technical College where she taught for many years. While employed at Valdosta Technical College she was active locally, state wide and nationally in Phi Beta Lamda (PBL) and was the co-ordinator for the Valdosta Technical College Gold Standard Program. She was a faithful member of and actively served in many capacities within the Valdosta Elks Aidmore Auxiliary. She was a member of the former Lee Street Baptist Church.

Survivors are a sister and brother in law, Beverly and Otis Fletcher of Valdosta; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by a son, George R. Johnson, Jr., and a sister, Mary Catherine Meacham.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Sunset Hill Cemetery. Mr. Buddy LaHood will officiate. There will be no visitation. Condolences may be conveyed online at www.mclanefuneralservices.com. Carson McLane Funeral Home is serving the family of Mrs. Johnson.
