Wondell J. Eddings, 75, of Hahira died Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. He was born in Colquitt County on January 5, 1934 to the late Elvis and Addie Folds Eddings. Mr. Eddings was a charter member of the Charity Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He lived for his family, church and singing and was the founder of the Georgia Boys Quartet. He was the owner of Lowndes Woodshop.
Survivors include his wife to whom he was a devoted husband to, Peggy Eddings of Hahira, three daughters and sons in law, Wanda and Gene Mauldin of Doerun, Tami and Rick Williams of Camilla, Angie and David Thurman of Watkinsville, son and daughter in law, Jimmy and Stephanie Cowden of Knoxville, TN., 8-grandchildren, Dusty Mauldin, Jessica Williams, Rebecca Williams, Marquanne Couch, Madison Thurmond, Bryson Cowden, Kennedy Cowden, Kelsey Cowden; 1-great grandchild, Darby Mauldin; sister and brother in law, Lanelle and Norman Howell of Moultrie.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, January 10, 2009 at the Charity Baptist Church with Dr. Clyde Stokes, Rev. Rick Williams and Rev. Lee Graham officiating. Burial will follow in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
