William Loyd Starling

William Loyd Starling, 68, of Valdosta, died Sunday, May 25, 2008. He was born on February 27, 1940 in Brooks County to the late John Harris Starling, Sr. and Annie Lou Shierling Starling. Mr. Starling was a United States Air Force veteran having served from 1959 until 1962. He was a retired millwright from Georgia Power and was a member of Gateway Baptist Church.

Mr. Starling is survived by his wife, Sylvia Starling, two daughters and one son in law, Tina Starling and Teresa and Duke Paulo, four grandchildren, Cole Starling, Wil Paulo, Dillon Paulo and Alana Paulo, one sister, Betty Nelms of Whigham, one sister in law and brother in law, Hannah and Bruce Peplinski of Cairo, two brothers and sisters in law, John H. Starling Jr. and Jeanette Starling and Marcus and Margaret Starling all of Whigham, several nieces and nephews and a special cousin, Junie Starling (JoAnn) of Orlando. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Sara Frances Starling.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 30, 2008 at 3:30 p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Dewey Fountain and Mr. Junie Starling officiating. Burial will follow in Benevolence Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p. m. Thursday at the funeral home.
