William Albert Duffield

William Albert Duffield, 82 of Valdosta for 24 years, died on Saturday, January 1, 2005 at his residence. Born on February 15, 1922 in Akron, OH, he was the son of the late Walter and Maude Duffield. Mr. Duffield retired as a machinist from Eastern Airlines and was a retired United States Navy veteran. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors are his wife of 63 years, Betty Ruth Lewis Duffield of Valdosta, two sons and daughters-in-law, Walter and Colleen Duffield of Miramar, FL, Richard and Pam Duffield of Pembroke, FL; one granddaughter of Cherron Miley of Valdosta; three great grandchildren, Jessica, C. R., and Chase Miley all of Valdosta; one brother and his wife, Ira and Irene Duffield of San Antonia, TX. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Authna Carter.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 6, 2005 at the Fred Hunter Funeral Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, FL. Burial will follow at the Hollywood Cemetery with full military rites at the graveside. The family will receive friends on Wednesday beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Fred Hunter Funeral Home.
