Will Carter McCracken, 28, of Atlanta, died suddenly on Wednesday, July 8, 2015. Will was born in Valdosta on December 12, 1986. He grew up in Valdosta and graduated from Lowndes High School in 2005. He went on to attend and graduate from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Arts in Entrepreneurship and Family Business in 2011. He soon moved to Atlanta and most recently has worked with the Arthur M. Blank Foundation (AMB Group). Will was a free spirited musician who played the piano, but really enjoyed playing his acoustic guitar. He attended Park Avenue United Methodist Church. Will was beloved by family and friends who loved his gentle, sweet spirit and his beautiful smile that could animate a room, he will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his parents, Dave and Becky McCracken of Valdosta, his brother and sister in law, Drew & Lindsey McCracken of Nashville, TN; an aunt and uncle, Marcia & Jim Baker of Quitman, an uncle and aunt, Frank & Sherry Dupire of Manheim, PA. He is also survived by cousins, Ben (Robin) Baker of Gainesville, and Chris (Brandi) Baker of Brooks County, and several other relatives, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. W. F. McCracken, Jeannette Dupire and Jimmy Dupire.
The funeral for Will will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2015 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. Rev. Hale Bishop will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Quitman. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 10, 2015 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Warren Speed Coats Wwjd Foundation Inc., 3556 Victoria Drive Valdosta, GA 31605-1073.
