Wayland (Bo) Hendry Blalock

February 12, 1952 — November 14, 2019

Wayland (Bo) Hendry Blalock, 67, of Valdosta, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born in Atlanta, GA, on February 12, 1952 to the late Dr. Wayland Marion Hendry, Jr. and Charleen Stephenson Blalock. He graduated from Valdosta High School where he played football for the Valdosta Wildcats. He attended the United States Military Academy at West Point to play football for Army. He transferred to Georgia Tech where he received a degree in civil engineering. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a self employed contractor and a member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church.
Bo is survived by his wife Janet Hiers Blalock, of Valdosta; his daughter and son in law Mary Carol Blalock Perry and Jason Perry of Gulf Breeze, FL; his son Wayland (Buck) Hendry Blalock, Jr. of Valdosta; his grandsons Bo Perry and Dillon Perry; a sister and brother in law Carol Blalock Woodall and Orson Woodall, of Valdosta; a brother Edward Wrenn Blalock of Savannah, GA; a sister in law and brother in law Phyllis and Freddy Killgore, of Valdosta; a brother in law and sister in law David and Julie Hiers, of Valdosta. He was preceded in death by his parents Charleen and Ed Blalock, and his father Dr. Wayland Marion Hendry, Jr.
Funeral services for Bo will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at 3 p.m. at Park Avenue United Methodist Church with Rev. Jamie Bone and Rev. Jimmy Towson officiating.
